First Northern Credit Union
This new branch bank facility for First Northern Credit Union is located in the retail concourse level of the Time Life Building and was completed in October 2010.

Designed, permitted and built within a twelve week time frame, the project was completed within the tenants very demanding schedule and budget. New banker workstations were selected to integrate with the Credit Union’s existing workstations at another facility and to begin to establish for the credit union a facility and finishes standard.

Blair Residence
The Blair Residence is a complete interior renovation and addition to a 1920 Bungalow in Chicago’s Norwood Park neighborhood.

Special design attention was paid to the addition to retain the scale and character of the existing house and neighboring bungalow houses. Patterned shingles on the addition gables recall the shingle pattern at the existing gables and window sizes and placement mirror that of the existing house.

Time Life Building Lobby Renovation
While an associate at Solomon Cordwell Buenz I served as Project Manager of this historic renovation of a classic 1968 Harry Weese design. The building was an AIA Landmark and 25 Year Award winner and featured many innovative and original high rise building design ideas.

The renovation scheme demolished a series of interior partitions that had been added to the original space and opened up the large and spacious lobby to it’s original proportions. The original dramatic 30’ high granite walls were cleaned and restored and existing light fixtures were replaced with new energy efficient fixtures.

New exterior planters were added to the plaza in front of the building and built of “cor ten” weathering steel to match the existing original building cladding. Design work was completed withing a cost sensitive budget and the lobby remained operational for the 25 tenant floors occupants throughout the duration of work.
